Fire Protected Wood / Timber

EcoChem is the European market leader in the development, production and marketing of eco-friendly flame-retardant additives for timber and wood-based panels: Particle boards, MDF boards, OSB & Plywood. The method to produce a fire-retardant wood-based panel is the homogeneous mass-incorporation of our flame retardant additives during the production of the board. Our fire protection products are added in dry or liquid format during the manufacturing process. The EcoChem flame-retardants are halogen-free.

Fire Retardant Wood Panel applications

Wood is nature's most all-round building material. It has excellent mechanical properties; it is renewable, sustainable, energy efficient, easily workable, and aesthetically pleasing.  However, untreated wood-based panels are flammable which makes them less attractive with regard to fire safety! Treating wood panels with the correct type of flame retardant formula can overcome this disadvantage allowing a wide range of fire retardant wood products to compete with other building materials (such as plaster boards). The main applications of FR wood based panels as we know them today:
Internal walls, ceilings, roof constructions and furniture in public buildings (such as hotels, airports, offices, hospitals, exhibition halls, theatres, schools etc …).
